No googling necessary.

Whoever handles the external DNS records for heltonindustries.com will
do that for you. That's most likely going to be your ISP - what you
want is a DNS PTR record that says that your public IP address has the
name of your Exchange server, which will be
name-of-your-exchange-server.heltonindustries.com.

Once that's done, someone out in the world who does a 'ping -a
name-of-your-exchange-server.heltonindustries.com' will get back the
public IP address that your Exchange server sends from.One other thing
to check on (I haven't, you should) is to make sure that you have a
valid MX record for your exchange server as well.

Of course, this means that you must have a static public IP address,
assigned by your ISP.

If you have a dynamic IP address for your Exchange server, you *must*
use your ISP's mail server as a smarthost.
