I think there is a clear difference in what I was saying and the level of IT staff we are dealing with. I assume that some of the more vocal dissenters are front line administrators who are just angry to have to deal with technology that is not MS or at least PC related. That is the way it sounds anyway. To dismiss needs for specific groups out of hand is not going to help a company grow. It is absurd to assume that IT staff or systems analysts can choose the right products or platforms for specific needs like marketing or other areas alone. There has to be multiple bodies who coordinate and discuss new technologies, how to support it, implement it, and be productive with it. Hopefully companies include IT in those discussions, but if you worked for me and just dismissed technology because you don't know it or have a grudge, you would not work for me very long.
