Any ideas for speeding this system up other than adding Ram, deleting files?
I have a Server 2003 SP3 Enterprise Ed with 4 Gig Ram 1.04TB diskspace.
There are 968,462 files and 22709 directories 406 Gig Disk Space used
I have a share folder named Share1 that I grant Traverse/List/Read rights to to
all groups that need access to multiple Shares under Share1
Whenever I need to change security rights on Share1 the server becomes
extremely slow to respond to requests, causing many systems to give the message
that the network resource is unavailable.
I can't change the setup of the server as this is for production systems that
must keep running.
What if anything can I do to resolve this slow response time?
Due to budget constraints I can't just throw more RAM into it.
