  Keep in mind that Windows evaluates group membership at user logon.
So if users are logged on when you change their group membership, the
users in question will not "see" the change until they log off and
back on again.

  Granting permissions to a group is going to work the same way
granting permissions to individual users would.  For the folder in
question, grant the group the same permissions you were granting the
users.  I gather that would be Traverse/Read/List.
