OpenDNS sounds like it meets 100% of your requirements and is the most
cost-effective (no new hardware) and easy to implement (running in just
a few minutes). Create an account for yourself, point your machine's
DNS to it, configure the filtering categories, and see for yourself.

After your testing, just point your branch office network to OpenDNS's
nameservers and you're done.

Subject: Monitor & Block Internal Web users

Hello everyone,

I have come accross a very difficult position and hence this query. This
is related to a query / call for one of our Small Office customers on
our helpdesk.

The site has 2 servers with Win2k3.....15 users.... PIX firewall

Some of the users were lately downloading music & and visiting porn
sites and that was identified & some users were sacked instantly.

Now the problem is that they dont have any budgets currently in hand to
invest for a ISA 2006 + GFI solution which has already been
suggested....

Now what I was thinking if I can find a product which is free but does
the following

1. Log

2. Reporting

3. Blocking sites using categories.

4. Block chat sites...

5. Easy to configure and make changes (bare minimum training)

Not to forget easy to deploy as I would hae to read tons of PDF's

Cache is not an important feature as bandwith is not a problem but would
be a bonus feature....

Possible solutions:

1. If this solution is linux based we can install VMWARE and run Linux
in a virtual enviroment on one server. (I guess that would work)

2. I was searching around and came accross this product never heard of
it before
http://www.download32.com/safesquid-content-filtering-proxy-i26452.html

3. Any other suggestions

What I am nverous off that I dont want to suggest a product which I have
not personally used OR others have not used ....I am sure you know what
I mean.

I am sure I will get tons of reply :)
