We use small Fortinet 50A units for smaller sites. They can connect via a VPN tunnel back to your HQ if you need that. I like them since they have built-in firewall, A/V (http, smtp, pop, imap), intrusion prevention, malware blocking, and content blocking. The firewall is part of the unit, the other services you pay for what you want. I use several and they connect via VPN to my larger Fortinet unit here at HQ. I have my content blocking configured so that when a user goes to a blocked site he/she is provided a link to read the IT Internet Usage policy for our agency. Very cheeky... It's not free but it works well for us.
