Nah, why keep a support contract just for Backup software? I've run
into snags here and there but a little google-fu or hacking around for
a bit fixes the issue, or often just a reboot. I hear various horrors
of BE but it runs very smoothly for me.

All I know is that the serial numbers do change for each version, so
each BE
upgrade you do need to get new keys.
So, can you plug the keys into v10 and have them work? - NO.
But, can you contact support and have them give you v10 compatible
keys?
PROBABLY.
Or, just upgrade all your agents and server to the latest version of
BE.
Upgrades are cake.
