Same here just not from the switch.  Un-plug old patch panel outlet move to
new outlet.  Drives them crazy that I can do that and know where everything
is.   Of course it helps to keep a good spreadsheet of which outlet and who
and what the have in their office.  The only drawback is my junior likes to
make changes and then forgets to let me know he made them.  Means I have to
go to each panel in each building and retrace all the panel to switch wires
every few months.
