But there is a cost to the BES server, and I work for
the state of California. They're trying to fix a $42 Billion deficit...
I'm being furloughed 2 days a month at the moment, which equates to
about a 10% pay cut.

Again not to hijack the tread but we have about 40 BB's,
and I barely remember that I have a BES server!

BlackBerry is constantly coming out with new handsets,
last week we got an upgrade for one user to the new 8900 Curve, very
very nice with a 3.2Mp camera., lots of memory and very nice form
factor.

I use the Bold again very nice little bit older and
larger but fantastic display.

Again as other have pointed out the BES server is very
easy to maintain, there is a very short learning curve!

I've always been a fan of the Samsungs starting with the
700, 730, and 760. I just got my touch pro a month ago and wouldn't go
back. Personally I like a keyboard. What I do miss from my 760 is the
direct dial pad for making calls but that just forces me to keep my
contacts more up to date. I've used all the XV series and couldn't
stand any of them. I also admin 50 BB's and I think the management
overhead is less in some ways than compared to Windows mobile. BB's
just work, they are set and forget and easy to use by non-techies.

Anyone using the XV6900? If so, how do you like the
keyboard options? We're looking for replacement phones, and I need some
experienced advice. We are under contract with Verizon, so our choices
are limited to what they offer. We've been using the Treo700wx, but
we've been told that it is now obsolete and not offered. The following
are our choices:

                XV6900

                Samsung i760

                HTC Touch Pro

XV6800 - I'm leaning towards this one, but I fear it
will be unavailable soon...

Palm Centro - I'm not looking at this very seriously, as
it doesn't come with WM6, or Mobile Office apps

Motorola Q9c - I've heard bad reviews of this one, don't
know if they've fixed the issues or not.

                Samsung Saga i770

                Samsung Omnia

We could also go Blackberry, but we don't really want
to, as that would add additional management overhead for us, with
needing to get BES, etc.

                Any personal experiences/recommendations would be
greatly appreciated.

                Thanks,
