HP acquiring 3Com makes sense to me. 3Com is dying, as a switch company. I'm sure they have good engineers, patents, etc.
I don't know anything about 3Com's business in China or Tipping Point. But I do remember the 3Com NBX phone system. This is an area where HP can expand into with the portfolio of 3Com.
