Not sure if you have a sniffer or other tool like wireshark - 
http://www.wireshark.org/download.html you could use on your server to see what 
is happening when you send the print through it vs. doing a direct print from a 
workstation, but that may be another option to "see" what's happening at a low 
level. You could do a test to the Konica and then to the Lexmark and try to see 
if there are any big differences in response time, packets, etc.

We've tried moving the printer to a different switch already.  No luck.

Ping times are perfect.  325 pings <1ms with no packet loss.

Interestingly bringing up the printer properties page also takes a couple
of seconds.

Using LPD printing didn't make a difference.
