Not only +1 million on that, but ethically you are doing a disservice to humankind by paying for it and allowing a company like that to continue to operate! ;o) It's like not reporting a mugging - you have to duty to report it to make sure others don't get mugged! What an incredibly ill-thought, intrusive, arrogant, mistrusting, penny-pinching policy! I have never submitted to any physical screening tests - while I admit there are probably some rare jobs where that is appropriate, it should never be the norm. To not only assume this is the norm, but to charge you for this assumption of guilt reflects much that is wrong in society. Mistrust breeds contempt and lack of personal responsibility. It is the path to the dark side my friend! a ________________________________

I am currently talking to the contracting rep about this position. He wants me to fill out some online forms, standard stuff, but I am concerned about one of the forms. This form is a release for a Background Check and Drug Screening. Now, I don't mind the background check or the drug test. But what kinda irks me is that they want to charge $10 for the Drug Test and $25 for the Background Check. What the form basically says, is, that I am giving the contracting firm to deduct those amounts from my first paycheck. I am also hesitant in filling out any forms for them, as they haven't told me what the payrate is on this position. I thought all Background Checks and Drug Test charges where the responsibility of the contracting company? What are your thoughts on this? ************************************************************************************ WARNING: The information in this email and any attachments is confidential and may be legally privileged.
