While I haven't tried in 2008r2, in win2003 if the same spindle carried out both roles, that POS that is VSS decides its overwhelmed with IO and instead of intelligently ending the snap in progress, no that would make sense, it wipes out the entire vss store of all previous snaps. Lame... Since all the issues I make it std practice to separate spindles between roles and I've never seen an issue since. I've been Leary of the reliability of vss since 2003, but in all fairness I have never seen it go on 2008r2, one day I will set it up on the same spindle group and load it up, if it tanks the same way I'd still not be impressed with the implementation of it. jlc ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ --- To manage subscriptions click here: http://lyris.sunbelt-software.com/read/my_forums/ or send an email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe ntsysadmin
