The few times I've tried, Office2007 uninstalls nicely. That is, in ControlPanel, if I uninstall it, then I usually find no pieces of Office2007 products in HKLM\Software\Microsoft. (Check anyway.) Do a file system check, then try to reinstall (and hope you don't have to go through MS Activation!).
Hopefully a re-install will let PP run. -- richard "John Aldrich" <[email protected]> 04/15/2011 01:19 PM Please respond to "NT System Admin Issues" <[email protected]> To "NT System Admin Issues" <[email protected]> Press this button if the "To" is a fax number. I have tried repairing it several times, but it just won't run. It won't even run in "safe mode." I never get an error message, but after I repair it and try to launch, it pops up the splash screen then goes away. Nothing in the logs. I try to launch it again, it comes up with a message that Powerpoint failed to start properly, and do I want to start in safe mode, click yes, and nothing happens. The third time it comes up and says it failed to start in safe mode, do I want to try a repair install. Infinite loop. Now, I don't know if Powerpoint *ever* worked on this laptop. The manager got it used after the previous user left the company. I have not wiped and reinstalled as I was not sure where the reinstall media was for that laptop. :-( Any ideas? ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ --- To manage subscriptions click here: http://lyris.sunbelt-software.com/read/my_forums/ or send an email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe ntsysadmin ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ --- To manage subscriptions click here: http://lyris.sunbelt-software.com/read/my_forums/ or send an email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe ntsysadmin
