OK so using Webex Connect, am I being dumb or is there no simple way to be sharing your desktop, and to simply/quickly upload a file to the meeting room?
Looks like you have to stop sharing your screen, which takes you back to the full client, transfer the file(s), then re-share your desktop? I can't believe that's the only way, but when I'm sharing my desktop I don't see any sort of file transfer options in the auto-hide toolbar at the top of the screen? For us, based off our usage of our current product, the user limit isn't an issue, but I do need to be aware of it and if there are options on the odd occasion we may be asked if we can support more participants. I would imagine it would be the same ports needed for most streaming video applications (like Skype for instance). No admin rights needed to use it - as long as you have Flash it should work fine. My only qualm with WebEx is the limitation of 25 people on a web conference. That...and the fact that they update their client about once a week, so it seemed like every time I wanted to use it I had to wait for the latest client to download. I've not yet checked with them but as you use them you may be able to comment first-hand - their website suggests that quite a raft of outbound ports are needed if you want to use VOIP/Video, not just 80/443? Also what's the score with any admin rights needed to use it? Obviously that's a no-no with a lot of large corporations. Cost is roughly the same as the 'big players', and it is Flash-based so there are fewer "I can't download the plug in" complaints. The big advantage for us was on the web conference - Fuze allows up to 100 attendees, everyone else was capped at 25. We have a daily Ops call that usually has 30-40 attendees and too many people were being 'shut out' of GoToMeeting.
