Thx again all for clarifying. Has any one ever gooten an error when scanning debppc cds for installation cache?
Sometimes my screen fills up what looks like i/o errors (lots of the same numbers) looped indefinatly until I hsve to reboot and start the process over. Mount the partition in-kernel instead. Once miBoot is properly set up with hfsutils, there is no reason to continue managing the partition that way, and for machines that do not require a specialized kernel, i.e. OldWorld PCI machines, i recommend keeping the HFS partition mounted via /etc/fstab as /boot, so that kernel and initrd images get put by the distro into the correct place automagically.
