Hi Gary,
you create DOF with zDefocus, using the z-pass.
you create motion blur with VectorBlur using the velocity pass.

Things aren't as straight forward, as different 3D applications render
these two passes differently, but there are ways to convert the passes, or
tell the nodes what to do with them.

Should be pretty straight forward overall.
