Hi Well i should try this but i am confused a little according to the foundry website requirements :
Graphics drivers capable of running CUDA 4.2 or above. On Windows and Linux, CUDA graphics drivers are bundled with regular drivers for your NVIDIA GPU. Drivers from April 2012 onward support CUDA 4.2. Go to http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us <http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us> for more information. So - I’m very much used to this - just installing additional drivers…… with mint 17 the default is 331.113 - but nuke doesn’t see the GPU in preferences - which is weird to me because as you state the cuda drivers are bundled in this - and this has certainly worked before……. So i used xorg-edgers/ppa thinking that 331 was perhaps buggy - and installed the latest driver 340 successfully : but still nothing from Nuke So this installation of CUDA 6 i then tried - seems overly elaborate and way beyond my understanding. Well i did everything it prescribes except that the final device query doesn’t work. On forums people discuss this approach not being supported in Mint anyhow….. Surely the standard drivers in additional drivers in Mint should be working fine - which makes me think theres an error in either the release of mint 17 XFCE or in my installation……..? ill keep working on it.
