yet myself, I think it should be possible to set up your forum account so
you receive an email whenever a new topic is posted, or a daily topic
digest if you preferred. This would make it behave somewhat more like a
mailing list, except you would need to click a link instead of "reply" to

That is correct.

Also, new accounts don't need to wait for approval, that was only
applicable to the old forums.

Obviously, we don't want any of you to feel like you don't want to join The
Community. Maybe give it a try when it moves on Monday 9th for a bit of
time and give us your feedback along the way.
