What if Einstein had decided being a life insurance salesman (indeed this
was his B plan)? Necessarily other person could reach the same conclusion
about Relativity as there're more people thinking about physics..

I think Jeff just accelerated the process as he didn't see any relevant
moviment to design a framework for intelligence.. So I think that a global
framework woud be a matter of time.. Indeed already there're some atempts
about.. Chris Eliasmith's papers are a good example..

However this does not take away the merit of Hawkins.. His work is
extremally valuable and cutting edge .. What I mean is that one time or
another, a good framewrok could appear.. It could take years, could take
decades..
