I would be ok if some one else would hav invented CLA as effectively as Jeff did.. But very few people would have thought of making it open sourced. If it was private, like vicarious, I would have never been able to enjoy my work as much as I do now. Plus i am very sure its a different kind of AI revolution which will always be remembered.. its too effective and too simple.. most dont believe it in, but its ok.. no one believed newton too ;) ps we will soon have a chat bot build out of CLA. Its close to finish.

Necessarily other person could reach the same conclusion about Relativity as there're more people thinking about physics.. I think Jeff just accelerated the process as he didn't see any relevant moviment to design a framework for intelligence.. So I think that a global framework woud be a matter of time.. Indeed already there're some atempts about.. Chris Eliasmith's papers are a good example.. However t his does not take away the merit of Hawkins .. His work is extremally valuable and cutting edge .. What I mean is that one time or another , a good framewrok could appear .. It could take years , could take decades .. I'm glad that Grok is getting real paying customers, but I imagine the burn rate is still pretty crazy, so thanks to Jeff first for RNI (I know a few people who were there, crazy smart and doing very nice work) and now Grok. I don't know where NuPIC/CLA is going (In short: I'm skeptical but am watching with great interest) but I admire the hell out of Jeff for putting so much of his time and energy and, yes, money into this. - Kevin p.s. Did I just write that? Maybe we need a nupic-fanboy list.
