I agree with Andrej, this is a silly discussion, waste of time, so I'll be short: I think the source of confusion is the look and feel of mozdex and nothing else. Remove those little Nutch icons, change the colour of your site, and you will be good. As a matter of fact, had that been done from day one, nobody would have any issues.
People in general don't have a clear picture of what Nutch is. Some think it's yet another search engine. Not everyone realizes it's 'just' software for a search engine, and possibly a demo instance of it. Not everyone realizes that Nutch is a legal entity, etc. Anyhow, back to work...
