Hi, I just read a very interesting piece on using Netbeans for PHP editing, debugging etc:
http://www.sitepoint.com/blogs/2008/12/16/php-support-in-netbeans-65/ Netbeans sounds promising and quite a bit has improved since earlier versions. Has anyone tried it (recently or at all)? I have used Zend Studio for Windows previously but I am considering the new version (Neon) for Eclipse running on my Ubuntu development machine. Zend is feeling a bit pricey for me though given that most of my development software is open source and free. I like code completion, and I really need decent local debugging. Plus being able to jump to the source of a function etc. To be honest, there are a lot of features I don't use and don't care about. I don't mind paying a certain amount (I pay for the pydev extension for Eclipse, for example) but I don't like paying large amounts for functionality I don't care about.
