Thanks for the feedback Michael,

Perhaps I didn't make myself clear enough.

It's not just 'doing development' I like, its creating things that are on
time, on budget, meet (or preferably exceed) the expectations and needs of
users and are in-general something I can be excited (and even a little
proud) about being involved with.

I'm trying to do my best to ensure that this particular project moves away
from potential mediocrity to being something that can add value to and
benefit my employer for at least a few years to come.

I understand if my ethos collides with yours, or even perhaps with a
perceptions of the public sector in general that may not be 100% correct.
