I agree on this part. But most of this benefit comes from not providing the same level of maintenance, testing, compatibility etc. for such scripts. This flexibility can be a big advantage but when putting such scripts close to our source code most people would probably expect them to be "fully supported". To that respect I share Marcel's concerns. Maybe we can find another common home for such scripts? And btw, I would also like to broaden the scope from oak-console scripts to all kinds of useful scripts for Oak (e.g. for scripts for the other Oak console at https://github.com/mduerig/script-oak).
