I just thought that I would throw my congratulations to all the
organizers. There were certainly lots of volunteers whose names have not
been mentioned. It is to them that we also owe our thanks.

After 10 years on the the classic route, I too took the opportunity to
try the new cruise route. I must say that it was a pleasant change.
There was less traffic, fewer large packs and less hills. The last part
may sound good to a lot of people, but I really miss the hills.

I do have one comment/complaint that I know the organizers can't do
anything directly about, but perhaps they could put it in next years
mailout as a reminder. When coming back from Kingston, I encountered a
pack that had their own SAG wagon with them. This car would drive beside
the pack in the wrong lane playing music to and talking with their pack
of riders. At least once that I saw, this car forced an oncoming truck
off the road who then was fishtailing on the shoulder. Generally this
driver made for some very unsafe conditions for themselves and all of
the riders. Of all the traffic on the first part of the trip back, this
driver passing the groups made up for at least half the traffic as they
"leap frogged" the group.

I'm sure in this case the driver of the SAG wagon had good intentions
of providing support to the riders, on an unsupported route. However
this did not come without a cost in terms of safety to themselves and
others. Perhaps a reminder in next years mail out could clarify that
extra SAG wagons can be more harm than good.

And finally, I should also thank everyone who checked to make sure I
was alright as I repaired a flat coming back just before LimeBank road.
There's never a good time for a flat, but having one just as you leave
or just before you finish always makes it harder.

Thanks again to all the organizers.

regards,
