Yes, drafting is illegal but there are those who will do it whether or not it is illegal -- the real question is it wise to do so?
The question I used to ask my husband rather than harangue him about drafting off of trucks was, "is the life insurance paid up and is it in my name?" He doesn't do it anymore.
