I'd like to renew my suggestion of new day tour starting places at
various rack'n'roll OC Transpo route (2, 95, 97, O-train) ends, e.g.:
- Bayview O train station, also on 95 & 97 routes.
- South Keys O train station. also on 97 route.
- Kanata Town Centre (West terminus of 97)
- Blair bus terminus (West terminus of 2, also served by 95)
- Place d'Orleans bus terminus (East terminus of 95)
- Fallowfield bus terminus (South terminus of 95)
The O train takes 4 or so bikes per car. Each bus can only take 2
bikes, so transit users would have to plan ahead. 95 and 97 routes do
run very often though, as often as every 3 minutes. Most of these
locations do have restaurants nearby to make it easier to arrive
early & wait. They all have parking nearby.
They are further into the country, so less urban pedalling is
necessary, especially for tours East or West.
Being on the transit line, they may gain new members for the club, or
just make it easier for some existing members who would otherwise
have to pedal an extra 20k or more at the start and end of each tour.
They would also provide more variety if several were used instead of
always using Billings Bridge. Billings Bridge is on the 97 route.
