So there's this travelling salesman who gets stuck at the farmer's place for
the usual reason of a broken down car.

The farmer has a daughter, as always, but also a pig, that's walking around
the house on two artificial hind legs.

"what's with your pig?" the saleman asks.
"Oh that's one special pig I tell you. You see my daughter, Helen?"
"Yes" ('of course you ninny, why do you think I stopped here') thought the
salesman.
"When she was an infant, we had a terrible fire. This here pig started
squealing and squealing, and woke the whole house up. Ran over from the
barnyard to do it. He saw us all outside, and must've counted an' figgured
that not everyone got out. He ran into the flames, grabbed young Helen from
the crib, and drug her out to safety. Ever since then, he's been a family
pet, and gets to live in the house with us"

"wow, that's a great thing" replied the salesman. "So he must have burned
off those hind legs in the fire, huh?"
"Nope," said the farmer.
Salesman: "well then, how do you explain them peg-legs?"

farmer: "Hey, you don't eat a pig like THAT all at once, man!"

Smeulders out.
