I am very interested in trying out the Obseqiuem software, but I am unable
to get the darn thing installed. This is the error I get without fail:
checking libmysqlclient library availability... not ok

*** Cannot run mysqlclient test program. Either libmysqlclient.so is not
*** properly installed or the path to libmysqlclient.so is not
*** in the dynamic link path. To fix this on Linux make sure that the
*** path to libmysqlclient.so (usually /usr/local/lib/mysql) is in
*** /etc/ld.so.conf and that ldconfig has been run.
***
configure: error: exiting.
Before trying this, I had mysql working fine from PHP etc. The problem I
thought was that my ibmysqlclient.so was not in the same dir as the Ob doco
says - so i made the changes to ld.so.conf and rerun ldconfig. This did
not help. So i downloaded the latest version of mysql and
reinstalled. This went fine, and it even installed the files in the same
places as the Ob setup says, but - I still get the same error. Can anybody
help?
