Hi Mel I am concerned that you are leaving and wish you would not- I think it is premature on the grounds that this loose organisation of people is still developing ways of communicating and need to still to develop its guideline to prevent extreme statements to be associated with the whole group.
I am worried that you label and lump us all as " fascist" just because we choose not to challenge certain satement that could be considered problematic. I am one of the people who do not respond when people call suspected criminals " scum: or " vermin" even though I do not appreciate this kind of language or the sentiments it expresses. Maybe this was an oversight on my part, but I would rather wait for a set of guidelines to deal with this. One such guideline , for example, is for people not to make statements and use language that instigates violence etc. I would like the OBSNW to succeed and to benefit from the increased sense of security it provides, where people take more responsibility for their own safety. I am saddened that someone who has been making useful contributions, feel the need to turn against such a movement. David, as the chair, I want to suggest you speak to Mel personally to motivate her to continue her support for OBSNW.
