i had a good response from saps when i radioed them at about 2.30 a.m. on saturday morning about a public disturbance that sounded like it could erupt into violence. i don't know if it was the station or the patrol car who responded. they said a car would come around. i called a few mins later and told them that was no longer necessary as they partying group had left. the officer was kind enough to ask if i was ok. i assured him i was fine and things had quieted down, but about 3 mins later a van arrived. i went out and told them what had happened and inspected my neighbour's car near the bottles in the street - it was fine and the van left. thanks saps for responding. this is the second time they've answered a call for assistance to deal with trouble from the same house - at the first party a fight had broken out in the street. it's good to know we can rely on saps for support.
