update on my msg about police response to my call: i'm grateful to trevor m who heard my call via his radio that (fortunately) he'd forgotten to turn off when he went to bed. he called the police on his cell. 'phone and that's why they came out. while i thank saps for coming, it seems this is another instance of a lack of radio communication between residents and saps.
i hope their recent radio silence is investigated. it's not encouraging that residents and businesses have donated money for radios that have been given to saps for free and that aren't being used effectively to help us fight crime. i thought saps had 3 radios but please correct me if this is wrong - one in the radio room, another in patrol car 1 and one with insp. nel. if this is so, at the very least, the radio room should be able to respond to a channel 3 call. by the way, the other instance i referred to (when saps came quickly to stop a fight at the first party), happened before we had radios; i'd called patrol car 1 on my cell. 'phone. thanks trev for helping out. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Observatory Neighbourhood watch" group.
