As someone who also lives right there, I must say I far prefer the mural to the graffiti on the wall before they painted the mural :) I'd hope that any repainting efforts focus first on the surrounding graffiti-covered walls, rather than the pleasant mural. On that note, does anyone know who owns, and who rents, the neighbouring Malta park building (the cricket clubhouse across the road), which is covered in graffiti?
