There was a burglary last night 21 Nov at a house on the corner of Lower Wrensch & Milner in Lower Observatory at approx 12:00am.
Returning hom, we drove past the burglary in progress without knowing about it. As soon as we parked, we heard the sound of someone shouting, then breaking glass. I investigated immediately and was on the scene 30 seconds later, arriving simultaneously with the police, who were on regular patrol. The burglars has literally kicked out one of the front sash windows, leaving a laptop computer and some clothing behind as they fled through the subway. Other items dropped by the burglars, including a musical instrument were found in the subway afterwards. Apparently, the shouting we heard was the sentry warning his accomplices to run for it, the moment the police patrol came up the road. It would seem that the burglars are well organised and are probably a gang of three. The police were on the scene very quickly, but the burglars were even quicker and well organised to get away so cleanly. On Saturday afternoon prior to the incident, a tall Black man was observed walking along Milner Road into the cul-de-sac taking pictures of houses and vehicles with his cell phone. He disappeared - probably through one of the holes in the railway fence when a resident tried to approach him. On Friday morning a suspicious dark blue VW Polo (old model) with three Black men inside and a CA registration was seen cruising the area and who drove off when approached. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Observatory Neighbourhood watch" group.
