Hi,

1 - First I'm not the original Frank and whilst I do not stay far from "Rose
Eedes" did not hear the alarm.
2 - Agree that Rose Eedes should have been approached in the first instance
whether they were okay and than to discuss the problem. ONW recommends that
you meet and exchange contact details with your neighbours.
3 - Siren duration is normally set for 3 minutes (Saidsa by-law 25
<http://www.saidsa.co.za/download.htm>required internal siren to be set for
at least a minimum 3 minutes). Generally installers do not exceed a maximum
of 7 minutes, but I cannot find the ruling on which this is/was based. It
depends also on dBa level and area.
4 - Seeing the event was over two weeks ago this was likely a positive alarm
activation, opposed to a false alarm and/or system has been seen to.
5 - An ADT (or nay other) alarm sign does NOT mean that they installed and
maintain the alarm. Installers, monitoring rooms and armed response can be
different firms.

Regards,

Frank S
