People in Obs really need to be more informed about what goes on in
their community. I strongly suggest that efforts are made to increase
awareness of this website and the other Obs community websites to keep
residents up to speed with what goes down in the area. The report in
the week-end paper did not go unnoticed by potential investors and
unless the c...@p in Lower Main Road is brought under control, people
are going to shy away from buying property and the prices of homes are
going to come under severe pressure.
A few years ago I successfully shut down three troublesome night clubs
single-handedly, by applying pressure on the landlord, and since then
it appears as though things have once again taken a turn for the
worse.
People need to take ownership of their community and get involved.
Hiding behind high walls, burglar bars and private security whilst the
criminal elements run amock in the streets, clubs and pubs, is not
going to win this war.
The few individuals who are working at the coalface need support.
As for the Metro Police Acadummy in the middle of Obs, who do Jacksh*t
when it comes to crime prevention on their own doorstep, it's time for
them to ship out, and turn the building into a fully functional law
enforcement office.
What about the CYCLOPS CCTV cameras that are in place in Observatory?
Are they tuned in to 7de Laan and Muvhango, or Supersport on the week-
ends? CYCLOPS is blind. They see nothing, they do nothing.
What a lot of boloney.
