I'm not saying our neighbourhood doesn't need improving and we have
our uniques set of issues. But Paddy's neurotic generalisation of

I can imagine the following conversation at the dinner table, after
Matric 2010:
Prospective UCT student to Daddy: "Ag pleez daddy, can't you rent or
buy digs for me in Obs? It's so Bohemian!"
Daddy to prospective UCT student: "What? Rent or buy drugs in
Observatory? Are you on drugs already? Do you really think I'm going
to invest in a ghetto, so you can blow your mind on cheap drugs and
expensive beer? It's Potchefstroom for you! And I mean the 3rd South
African Infantry, not the University."
Believe me, this story will go viral. People are already blogging
about it. Action needs to be taken and seen to be taken, or Obs is
going to stink. Or go "Up in Smoke".
