Yikes Chris ! Have you ever BEEN in he vicinity of the "club strip" around 0500 in the morning ? One "outlet" was still trading....albeit very subtly. In spite of a 0400 closing stipulation on their liquor licence.
It's seriously worrying that many young Obs folk now do not frequent Lwr Main Rd areas at night because it has become unsafe. On the morning I was down there simply riding along Lwr Main past the clubs stretch, I had abuse hurled at me by a couple of smartly-dressed black gents in a very swell Merc whom (I assume) were leaving one of the clubs to go home. As Kris says, you are much needed as an ONW patroller. Everyone is ! The watch that these patrollers do is commendable. I (personally) am too nervous about being out in this particular area alone at night. And frankly I worry for the ONW members who DO patrol down there..... It's not a fun area to be in anymore..... I'm not only referring to the levels of violence in this area..... Just seeing the number of heavily drugged / drunk individuals is SCARY. On the morning in question that I found myself down there, I had been awoken by a dreadful car smash (....taxi on Main Rd, cnr Browning / Rochester / Main) and I decided off-the-cuff to go and take a look at the club strip. Aaaaaaa-iiiiiiiiii-eeeeeeeee ! ONW members who go down there to keep tabs on what's happening are *brave*. No less. I don't live in Mexico..............yet...... But if nothing is done about the situation I would not be surprised if one of our ONW members was targetted (....and I am talking "targetted with a gun" = shot). For this same reason, I continue to wish that this ONW site was open only to ONW members and not the public. I do not like that the site is open to any/every criminal around.
