I think the more pleasant watering holes we have in Obs the better - like the wonderful village pubs in England and Ireland and indeed the more responsible shebeens in the townships, well run places with decent, community minded owners actually help build a community, and welcome strangers into the community.
Although I don't know Gert at all, the indications that I've seen so far are that Lions Corner is aiming to be one of these. Best of luck! A new restaurant/bar around the corner from me (can walk) sounds rather exciting. Lion Corner is a little removed from the somewhat more busy night area of Obs and I think it has a very good chance of being a welcome addition to the area.
