Well in fact the spam I'm manually excluding them from both the sourceforge
archives and from Nabble (to prevent the spammers benefiting from google
pagerank manipulation). So its a toss up whether there is more work in
removing the spam from the archives than approving non-member posts and
rejecting spam from a single webpage. I changed the default behavior to hold
mail from non members.

At the moment only Paul Kienzle and myself are informed of any held messages
as administrators for the list. I've added a moderators password. So if
someone wants to help moderating, send me an e-mail address to subscribe as
a moderator and you'll get an e-mail for held messages (and I'll give you
the moderator password). Administrators are informed immediately of held
messages, and once a day a report on all held messages. However, I'm not
sure when moderators will receive mails for held messages yet.

Not all moderators need respond to all messages, and maybe only occasionally
if there is a sufficiently large group of moderators. In any case you can
see if someone didn't within the day if there is an e-mail summary sent.
