First off, thanks Eric! Second, I don't quite understand why there could
be a patch against oz354fam083 - I thought that at least this was the
branch where all fam084 related changes go in? Or did I miss anything?

It would be very important to make the knowledge that went into fixing
bugs in Familiar 0.8.4 present for future releases of OpenEmbedded based
distributions. If we don't consider .dev as the main demominator then
we're loosing most of the things we gained when we started to work
together on OE metadata back in 2003.

Politics aside, the metadata is what counts and I urge all remaining
developers that are still wanting to team-play with OE to _please_ make
it possible to get all the Familiar 0.8.4 knowledge into .dev. It would
be very sad if we had to fix bugs twice or more. Note that there will
always be a release after the next release...

Also, could we _please_ stop to quarrel about that NOW until Familiar
Linux 0.8.4 has been successfully released. After that and a week of
sleeping over it I sincerely hope that ALL people who did hard work on
Familiar Linux in OE in the last years see a base to work together
again.

It really is starting to offend, depressing and hurt me personally that
the folks who didn't care about their distribution for two years have
managed to get such a thorn in between of us coworkers. :(
