Matt,

Production Environment: NT, Java1.2.2, IIS, Visi, JRun (jsp). Max uptime: 5
days.
Dev environment: Linux, Java1.2.2, Apache, Visi, JRun (Jsp), hardware is
_identical_. Max uptime: well, we had to move the server the other day, so
its low now - 17 days up until then, 'cos I have to move it at the start of
the month....

I thrash this server - services up and down, screw with networking, do bulk
uploads, start and stop stuff, etc. Never had a hickup.

needless to say, the production machine is going to be Linux as soon as I
finish getting a one-step database import from the old structure into the
new :)

Is it not a foolish man, said little Woo, who keeps all his chickens in his
trousers?
For at best, will he not suffocate his chickens, and, and worst, will he not
disappoint the ladies in the village? --Alexi Sayle
