I am a Delphi Developer who is learning Java. I have been running my Web
Server at home with Linux and Apache for some time. It does get a reboot on
occation because I'm too lazyto work out how to restart a specific service -
but it has NEVER gone down due to a system fault yet.

I am now running Tomcat (a OSS Java Servlet Engine) connected to Apache. I
am running Interbase 6 beta on the back end, with Interclient 1.5. Took a
bit to work out all the details of setting it up.

Its all working like a dream now, and what I do is :
1. Flexible. I can use any Database Back End that has JDBC
2. Cross Platform/Scalable. Can scale up to large servers without hassle.
3. FREE! Yeah, I havn't paid a cent - its all OSS from the OS to the
Database.
4. Fast. Yeah FAST! Not because Java is blinding fast, but because it
eliminates the database connect that CGI's have.
