Desktop, with twin 22" widescreen monitors. One of the previous posters mentioned disk speed. You won't find the same level of disk technology (speed etc) in a laptop (well, not without paying for it), and all the waffle we had yesterday about the merits of various levels of RAID is irrelevant WRT laptops. At home I have a desktop for doing photo stuff on (colour calibrated monitors etc), and a cheap laptop I picked up in a work sell-off that I can use to RDP to my desktop from time to time. ;-) But for the foreseeable future I really can't see myself ever using a laptop permanently in place of a desktop. But then I don't visit clients, etc. C.

How many of you are developing on a laptop, and how many on a desktop? I have been thinking of maybe getting a laptop, or rather replacing my current one that does nothing much other than RDP to my desktop when I am watching TV :-), as a replacement for my desktop all togeither. In my case VMWare wasn't even runing at the time, but some services were obviously. I turned them off ;) John
