Sorry for the delay getting back,
BayCorp are the leading debt recouperation people. You give them the details
about who owes you what and for how long, and they chase it up.
The down side of this for the company you are trying to the $$ from is, it
will effect the credit rating, so they will WANT to pay asap !

A "Special Answer" on a cheque is basically where you bank contancts the
bank and branch who the company banks with to see the check will clear, and
most banks will let you withdraw a certain amount of the $$ the cheque is
worth. Basically is a way of telling that the cheque is worth the paper its
written on.

Hi Jeremy

I don't know about BayCorp and I had a quick look at the web, but what could
BayCorp possibly do for me?

Also, what do you mean with "get your bank to get a special answer on it"?

Thanks for your advice.
John

Depends how long the $$ have been outstanding, but I alwasy find a letter
giving them 7 days (or less) to pay-up or you will go to BayCorp. If they
call your bluff...do it...go to BayCorp. I haev done it before. I have in
other circumstances turned up at the clients location and said I
was there to remove the software. This also gets things happening.....THEN,
if they give you a cheque......get your bank to get a special answer on it.
Will cost a couple bucks, but better to be safe than sorry !
