Less eye strain. You can have the editor font larger (I used to have
it at 8 but on this monitor I have it at 10).
Can have more items visible on the desktop which means less switching
and mouse clicking. I don't run Large Fonts though. Just normal fonts.

I actually have it plugged into my laptop so I have 1920x1200 (times
2) but I am finding that I hardly use the second monitor efficiently.
So perhaps no need for a second monitor.

Things are just clearer. You can sit back further and I feel a lot
more comfortable. It took a bit getting used to it and I had to put it
near the back of my desk. The first couple of days I had a sore neck
because I was moving my head when using it, it is pretty impressive to
look at. That was when I moved it back further.

While I run dual monitors (as mentioned) I would much rather run 1
large monitor than 2 smaller monitors. Then your head does have to
move around.

Dell also recently released a 30inch LCD in Australia (not sure about
in NZ). It is over double the price (for what I paid - was in a bulk
buy deal) but has 50% more screen space. However it needs dual dvi to
work.

cheers,
Jeremy
