I use two 20.1" screens on my computer (both Philips Brilliance 200P on an
NVidia 7800 GT with 2 DVI outputs). Very happy with it! Having so much
screen estate just helps you getting your multiple application-windows
organized better, no more minimizing/restoring windows all the time. You can
leave your emailer/msn/mp3player window open on one screen while working in
Delphi on the other.

I would say dual screen systems don't really make you much more productive
.. but they surely make computer work somewhat more comfortable.

The only thing I don't like is the black border frame between those two
screens. Maybe next time I am in the US I try to get one of those babies:

I use dual monitors 19" Philips <8mS Response time (190S) "cheapie $455+" @
1280x1024 for Main, straight ahead (at fingertip distance) and 17" CRT to
the right.
I don't need to turn my head much at all, mainly my eyes. Hey you got to get
exercise somehow! The second screen gets used heaps for web research, help
windows, odd spreadsheets or docs pertaining to current project and Outlook.

I am very pleased with my Philips. 3yr on-site wty too, saved about $50
against LG that has zero defect pixels.

I would not be without dual screens which I have been using with Borland
Pascal/Delphi since 1993 (one mono, one cga)

You need to note that LCD screens "should" always be used at their native
screen resolution.

Less eye strain. You can have the editor font larger (I used to have it at 8
but on this monitor I have it at 10).
Can have more items visible on the desktop which means less switching and
mouse clicking. I don't run Large Fonts though. Just normal fonts.

I actually have it plugged into my laptop so I have 1920x1200 (times
2) but I am finding that I hardly use the second monitor efficiently.
So perhaps no need for a second monitor.

Things are just clearer. You can sit back further and I feel a lot more
comfortable. It took a bit getting used to it and I had to put it near the
back of my desk. The first couple of days I had a sore neck because I was
moving my head when using it, it is pretty impressive to look at. That was
when I moved it back further.

While I run dual monitors (as mentioned) I would much rather run 1 large
monitor than 2 smaller monitors. Then your head does have to move around.

Dell also recently released a 30inch LCD in Australia (not sure about in
NZ). It is over double the price (for what I paid - was in a bulk buy deal)
but has 50% more screen space. However it needs dual dvi to work.

cheers,
Jeremy
