The auth.opensolaris.org domain already existed, and was already in use
by the auth project [1], so this isn't a new piece of site
infrastructure, I was already using it for the project.

Owing to the confusion around the Website GG/Project issue, it wasn't
clear to me exactly what was going to happen to the Auth repository - I
did ask for guidance from the OGB [3] but as yet I haven't received a
definitive reply. In the interim I decided it was better to move the
project to a stable location so as to cause the least disruption to the
project, and the existing auth.opensolaris.org site was an obvious
choice. I'd already had to export the repository to fix a history
corruption [3], so the process was mostly complete in any case. I
haven't precluded moving the repository again at some future date, but
for now it seemed better to put it somewhere stable.

I'd also like to point out that projects are not mandated to use any
particular set of resources, they can choose to host their work wherever
they wish. I'll also point out that the code is still open, it is still
under the opensolaris.org TLD, the bug tracking system is still
http://defect.opensolaris.org and contributors would still be welcomed
with open arms.
