I appeal to the board for information regarding OpenSolaris 2010.03 and
the development model of Indiana.

We've all wanted great clarity from Oracle regarding a great many
things, but the extent to which this board has the authority to demand
answers is highly questionable (even Sun wouldn't provide them)...
therefore I am not concerned with these matters; that is, anything to do
with Solaris(tm).

However, the OpenSolaris distribution ("Indiana") is reasonably within
the jurisdiction of the board. The 6 month development cycle as set
down by Ian Murdock has always been questionable, however there has been
no reasonable communication to the community with regards to the delays
in 2010.03.

There is, as far as I can tell, no reason to remain silent on details
regarding the delay and I would ask the board to intercede if it has not
already done so.

If OpenSolaris releases are to be as quietly protected as Solaris I fear
for the future of this community. I am aware of the Apr 2nd press
release saying its not dead, but all else has been conjecture. No
announcement was made through normal channels.
